ANTEMETICA

Antennas and Metaphysics. A landscape set high above and worn down by indifference. An intimate interplay of intertwining lines, perspectives, and linearity. Anorexic elements that have become a space, a glimpse, a boundary. A silent manifestation whose forms unite and engulf states, cities, and cultures, yet equally connect them through cables. Images displayed side by side that turn the entire world into a neighborhood. An antenna cable is a battered wire that runs through the labyrinth of values—the very ones we have lost and must rediscover—and along which we must try to rebuild human authenticity—that of the Union.

Antemetica is the decontextualization of what was intended to remain outside, hidden from view, yet has become a work of art by entering enclosed spaces. Antemetica is what emerges from the outlets, flowing along the walls of houses. It is what rises far from view, invisible and motionless above our heads, cloaked in the darkness of the conduits. Antemetica is the name upon which we walk and along which we express our ideas of change, evolution, or refuge in a bygone era. Antennas, along with their derivatives and rooftop companions, have long been a symbol of faith that still stands atop the temples of our homes—crosses of the present scattered throughout the world. And it is precisely the “truth” they transmit that guides a society’s hopes. Simple intertwined pieces of metal, transformed into a bridge between two millennia—a path that, by its very nature, binds us. Many of them are now unused, devoid of signal—a battlefield, a graveyard of information.

Strands of information, transmitters of images that spread across the Earth’s crust like an extension of human thought. A circle, a square, a rhombus, a triangle, a rectangle, a trapezoid. Faces, bodies, arrows, weapons, borders. Within their lines, these and other shapes form and are found. Whether by chance, by fate, or as a simple human protest.
